Writers are the New Witches!

While this looks alarming, Hear me out and put down your pitchforks and stakes.

Writers are the new witches? Yes, The connection is Medium. We all know what medium means in Witch 101. And this seems to be the platform almost every writer appears to be on.

Are they conducting séances through claps or what? Tell me. It looks a lot like their writings are calling me to read and clap😉 (Get it? Séances and clapping? And on medium, you clap when…. Forget it, it is okay if you don't get it).

Anyway, I love it. I love every article that comes to my mailbox. I love the WordPressers, the BlogSpotters and whatever means a writer uses to connect their creativity to the world.

That aside, writers are truly magical, aren't they?

The power of words lies within them, the ability to transport and bring forth. Through reading, you enter realms, and timelines to live characters/people's lives.

I had edited my profile( forgive me for the jumpscare) and there was a question about my “favourite book”.

While I don't have one, the Fantasyland series by Kristen Ashley crossed my mind. The parallel world she transformed us to, oh boy!

I am not one to bestow honorary titles, but that is a Grand wizard over there.

Let's not forget Nora Roberts and her Key trilogy (I had checked under my pillow as a teen wishing to see a golden key, the love of my life and a gazillion bucks hiding there. Alas! It was just my bonnet).

There are several authors I am sure also dabbled in some witchcraft while writing, and I love them all.

My waddling anthology finally gave birth, huzzah!

I completed it with fifty(50), not ten, not twenty, not forty but fifty individual poems inside. Whatever this week and month has and will throw at me. They can't dampen the pride that shrouds me like a well-ironed silk dress.

I lay here grinning at the thought that I finally had finished something. Who knows, I might complete the novels in my head and query this year( don't hold your breaths though). While I don't know where or when it will get published, let me wallow in this proud moment.

Internal validation plus concrete proof of yourself really does bibity-babity boo your fears away.

While I might not still be a writer, I have a blog and a completed anthology. I am well on my way to getting a midsize cape and the hook hat.

The lesson here is try, try to finish whatever it is that you started. The feeling of accomplishment is truly a magical one.
